In response to the unmet needs of many children from pre-k through age 21, the TRC Tutor program was developed in 2012. We focus our tutoring services on those who are experiencing difficulties in their learning due to a combination of disabilities such as ADHD, autism, and stress and anxiety that interfere with their learning.

For typical students who just missed a piece of information in class, traditional tutoring programs can help those students handily. For other students who carry stress and anxiety from issues such as learning disabilities, autism, or lack of self-efficacy, our approach builds on and uses the strengths of the total student. We use academic tutoring paired with therapeutic recreation practices of wellness, personal empowerment, social skills, and therapeutic techniques to reduce stress and manage anxiety. Once you can manage stress and anxiety issues, the academic success of the student improves and he or she is able to get the most out of tutoring.
